During the event, Secretary Liang Yanshun and other leaders visited ZHGAS' exhibition booth, where they were briefed by Zhu Zhiping, Senior Engineer and Administrative Committee Member of the Institute of Engineering Thermophysics, CAS. He introduced the development process and commercialization status of the “Biomass Circulating Fluidized Bed Gasification Technology for Green Chemical Products.” Developed by the Institute of Engineering Thermophysics, CAS, this technology features a unique staged gasification process that efficiently generates ultra-low tar product gas under mild gasification conditions. It addresses key challenges for large-scale biomass conversion, such as raw material fluctuations, tar control, and operational stability. The technology offers significant advantages, including wide raw material adaptability, high system energy efficiency, and strong environmental benefits. It can convert low-value, disordered biomass waste into high-value, ordered syngas. When combined with mature chemical processes, this technology can produce high-value fuels such as hydrogen, ammonia, methanol, and oil, thus supporting “non-electric utilization.” Furthermore, it offers a path for traditional industries, such as steel, to achieve “waste-to-waste, low-carbon, green transformation.”

As the industrialization entity for this technology, ZHGAS has been instrumental in advancing its engineering applications. Currently, two projects are underway in the field of biomass gasification for green methanol production, and another project in the biomass gasification for green gas and reducing agents is under construction. Using agricultural and forestry waste, as well as waste-derived fuels as raw materials, the technology can replace traditional energy sources like coal and oil. With its characteristics of "renewable raw materials, clean processes, and green products," the technology aligns with China’s "dual carbon" strategy and ecological civilization goals, providing a feasible technological pathway for the energy structure transformation.

The "Biomass Circulating Fluidized Bed Gasification for Green Chemical Products" exhibition attracted numerous leaders, experts, and business representatives who stopped by to inquire about the technology’s details and potential for collaboration. Several media outlets also interviewed the representatives at the ZHGAS booth, showing strong interest in the company’s performance in the field of biomass gasification for green chemical products, further confirming the technology’s forward-looking nature and market potential.

As the global energy transition accelerates, biomass gasification technology is expected to unleash greater potential in the fields of green chemicals and clean energy. Moving forward, ZHGAS  will take this conference as an opportunity to deepen its industry-academia-research collaboration with the Institute of Engineering Thermophysics, CAS. The company plans to expand into high-end application scenarios, such as green hydrogen, green methanol, and sustainable aviation fuel, and build an innovative ecosystem for the entire biomass energy industry chain. By working closely with upstream and downstream partners, ZHGAS aims to scale up the application of biomass circulating fluidized bed gasification technology and contribute to China’s ecological civilization and energy security through scientific and technological innovation.
