Recently, ZHGAS received a letter of commendation from the owner, Hubei Yihua Group Co., Ltd., expressing high recognition for ZHGAS's management level and dedication demonstrated during the construction of the Xinjiang Yihua coal gasification plant project.
The commendation letter noted that the project faced complex site conditions, severe climate, and significant construction challenges, compounded by progress delays due to the COVID-19 pandemic. ZHGAS leadership reportedly visited the project site multiple times to personally direct and supervise operations, coordinate progress, integrate resources, and resolve difficult and critical issues. Project personnel, undeterred by extreme heat or cold, remained steadfast on the construction frontline, completing key milestones with assured quality and quantity, making an outstanding contribution to Xinjiang Yihua's timely resumption of production and start-up. Furthermore, the owner conveyed sincere gratitude to ZHGAS in the letter and expressed anticipation for deeper future cooperation to achieve mutual success.
Currently, Xinjiang Yihua's 400,000 tons/year synthetic ammonia, 600,000 tons/year urea, and 80,000 tons melamine units are fully operational and running at stable full capacity. This signifies that circulating fluidized bed (CFB) coal gasification technology has been thoroughly validated for its application in gasifying high-alkali coal. Due to its strong fouling, proneness to coking, large fluctuations in ash melting point, and poor slurry-forming properties, high-alkali coal cannot be effectively processed by fixed-bed, entrained-flow water-coal slurry, or entrained-flow pulverized coal gasification processes. The full-load operation of the Xinjiang Yihua project demonstrates the strong adaptability of circulating fluidized bed coal gasification technology to various coal types, providing technical and equipment support for the efficient and clean utilization of vast reserves of low-rank and inferior coals. It also offers a practical and feasible process pathway for small and medium-sized ammonia enterprises to reduce their coal costs.
