Recently, ZHGAS signed a fixed bed clean coal gasification environmental protection and energy-saving retrofit project with Jiangsu Heyou Chemical Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Jiangsu Heyou"), for the upgrade of its crude coal gas cooling and dust removal process.
Jiangsu Heyou has an annual synthetic ammonia production capacity of 150,000 tons. Previously, its gasification section produced raw gas using multiple intermittent fixed bed gasifiers, cooling the coal gas by direct water washing. This method led to problems such as severe pollution in the wash water system and a large workload for coal sludge disposal. This project will adopt dry dust removal and waste heat recovery clean coal gasification retrofit technology, replacing the outdated direct water washing method for cooling coal gas. This will not only solve the environmental issues of pollutants like tar phenolic water generated by the original conventional coal gas cooling and purification system, enhancing pollution control levels, but also reduce coal consumption by recovering the sensible heat of coal gas, aligning with national carbon emission reduction policies.
In 2019, four ministries – the Ministry of Ecology and Environment, the National Development and Reform Commission, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, and the Ministry of Finance – jointly issued the "Comprehensive Control Plan for Atmospheric Pollution from Industrial Furnaces and Kilns." The plan explicitly stated, "For industries such as nitrogen fertilizer that use fixed bed intermittent coal gasifiers, accelerate the transition of coal gas cooling from direct water washing to indirect cooling." In response to this policy, ZHGAS, leveraging years of experience in the development, design, and operation of dry cooling and purification systems, innovatively developed a set of indirect cooling technology applicable to intermittent fixed bed retrofits. This technology closely integrates widely proven cyclone pre-dust removal, dry dust removal, and indirect cooling technologies to form an integrated process for coal gas dust removal, purification, and indirect cooling. It addresses the high-pollution issue of direct cooling circulating water while recovering coal gas dust. This project is an excellent practical application of ZHGAS's integrated coal gas dust removal, purification, and indirect cooling process. Upon commissioning, the project will significantly improve the overall factory environment and help the enterprise meet environmental compliance challenges.
As a national high-tech enterprise, ZHGAS will always adhere to market-orientation, tightly aligning technological innovation with industrial development needs. By integrating technologies, optimizing systems, developing engineering solutions, and promoting market applications, ZHGAS will contribute innovative strength to the clean, efficient, low-carbon, and green development of the coal chemical industry.
