At 11:00 PM on September 22, the Shandong Bluesail fixed-bed gasification indirect cooling upgrade project, undertaken by ZHGAS, was successfully commissioned. This marks ZHGAS's solid first step into the butanol and octanol industry. Furthermore, this project is the first fixed-bed indirect cooling renovation project in China's butanol/octanol sector.

Shandong Bluesail Chemical Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Shandong Bluesail Group Co., Ltd., is located in Qilu Chemical Industrial Park. It boasts an annual output of 500,000 tons of industrial plasticizers, 150,000 tons of butanol and octanol, and 100,000 tons of phthalic anhydride. Its gasification section utilizes seven intermittent fixed-bed gasifiers to produce syngas. The two accompanying dust removal systems previously employed direct water scrubbing for cooling and dust removal, leading to severe pollution from the scrubbing water system, odor dispersion around the plant, and a substantial workload for coal sludge disposal.

To address these issues, Zhonghe Gasification implemented a clean coal gasification renovation technology incorporating dry dust removal and waste heat recovery. They constructed a new dry gas purification and indirect cooling system, phasing out the outdated process of direct water scrubbing for gas cooling. This resolved the environmental problems associated with pollutants like tar phenolic water generated by the original conventional gas cooling and purification system, significantly elevating pollution prevention and control standards.

This purification and cooling technology originated fromZHGAS's circulating fluidized bed coal gasification unit. Building upon the dry cooling and purification system successfully utilized in that unit for many years, they innovatively developed an indirect cooling technology specifically tailored for intermittent fixed-bed renovations. This new process seamlessly integrates widely proven cyclone pre-dust removal, dry dust removal, and indirect cooling technologies, forming a comprehensive gas dust removal, purification, and indirect cooling integrated process. It not only recovers gas dust but also effectively addresses the high pollution issues associated with direct cooling circulating water. Following the project's commissioning, both the temperature and dust content of the gas after dust removal and cooling have surpassed design specifications. The overall plant environment has significantly improved, resolving previous challenges in meeting environmental compliance.

Furthermore, the original cyclone dust collectors' gasification coal ash was cleaned and transported manually. This not only led to coal dust pollution in the surrounding environment but also posed safety hazards to operators from inhaling gas. This renovation project upgraded this process to pneumatic ash conveying, greatly enhancing the safety and automation of ash discharge and reducing manual labor.

As a national high-tech enterprise, ZHGAS will consistently maintain a market-oriented approach, ensuring its technological innovations closely align with the demands of industrial development. It aims to contribute innovative strength to the high-quality development of the coal chemical industry.
